Linda Kay Martin

Linda Kay Buckelew Martin, wife mother, and dear friend to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on June 27th, 2025 at the age of 78, while in the comfort of the beautiful home she shared with her family for 36 years.

Linda Kay was born in Fulton, AL, on June 1st, 1947, to parents Elma Lou Baines and Troy Buckelew. She was the sister of June M. Wheat and Hugh Buckelew, both deceased, and is survived by her brother Jerry Mordecai (Betty). Linda Kay moved to Birmingham, AL, where she married in 1987 and gave birth to her only child in 1988. For many years, she cut hair professionally in the historic Tutwiler Hotel barbershop, serving and building friendships with many of Birmingham's professionals.

Linda Kay loved her family and friends and gave as much of herself as she could to anyone who was lucky enough to have made her acquaintance. Linda Kay is survived by husband Anthony Rollin Martin, daughter Vivian Beatrice Lovelace, sister-in-law Kelly M. Camp (Buddy) and a beautiful family of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will all remember her as a uniquely sweet and compassionate woman.

Funeral services will be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, July 8th, with a public viewing between 10-11am and graveside service from 11-11:30am.
