Lester Wilkerson

of Birmingham, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2007, at the age of 79. Born in 1928 and after graduating from Woodlawn High School, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. After retiring from the Automotive Finance business, Mr. Wilkerson worked for Certified Collateral. He was an avid golfer and a charter member of Altadena Country Club. During his long span in golf, he scored 6 holes in one. He is survived by a son, Russell Wilkerson and his 5 month old son, Skylar; and a daughter, Joy Simeone and her three children, Danny, Taylor and Lindsay. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home directing.
