Lera Bains Kahn, 89, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014. She was a graduate of Highlands Baptist School of Nursing and served the Birmingham area for 40 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. S.A. Kahn; mother, LurLur Bains; father, Henry Luther Bains, Sr.; and brother, Billy Bains.
She is survived by her brother, Henry Luther Bains, Jr. (Nelda); daughters, Patricia Robbins (Ronald) and Judith Gibbons; grandchildren, Jennifer Robbins-Smith (Rodney), Jonathan Robbins (Ashley), Patrick Gibbons, and Samantha Gibbons; great grandchildren, Boone Robbins and Ryder Robbins.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM, Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. A graveside service will follow at 11 AM in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, Rev. John Mount officiating.
