Lawrence (Larry) Everett Myers October 21, 1988-March 29, 2021
Larry was born in Bluefield, WV, and at young age he moved to Hoover, AL. His school years were filled with extracurricular activities including many different sports teams, show choir, & spending time with friends. After graduating from Hoover High School in 2007, Larry played baseball at Bevill State Community College. He also attended Auburn University where he enjoyed working in their fisheries center. Some of his favorite things included being in nature, fishing, baseball, napping in his hammock, playing music, going to concerts, a good cruise in the car, and pushing your buttons. Larry had a unique way of lighting up a room, and making the best of anything life threw at him (and life threw him a lot). He had an infectious laugh, and a wonderful smile. He was never afraid to speak his mind, a quality he was well known for. You could usually find him at an Umphrey’s McGee concert, or jamming on Monday nights with friends at The Nick in Birmingham. His friendships meant everything to him; and he would have done anything to help a friend in need. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing, and loving, him; especially his beloved dog Maulie. Larry was preceded in death by William Herschel Myers, Hank Myers and Mary Clark Cassidy. He is survived by Geneva Hosey Myers, Genne Marie Nelson, Sam Cassidy, Sherrill Howland, Adam Howland, Katherine Howland and Debbie Wymann. Visitation will be held in the chapel at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home on Hwy 150 in Hoover, AL Wednesday April 7th 2021 from 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your local Humane Society in memory of Larry.
