Kathy Yvonne Fowler, age 71, of Pelham, AL formerly of northern Virginia, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, March 20. She was a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover and had a very close and personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She showed His love to others by sharing personal stories from her walk with Him, and she loved to sing "Jesus Loves Me" to her grandchildren each visit.
Her actions displayed her deep devotion as well. Kathy was always cooking for her friends and neighbors to show she cared for them. She loved to do random acts of kindness, always helping those around her, and sometimes complete strangers with bills and other things they needed, but couldn't afford.
Kathy found peace and much joy in nature watching the wildlife around her Creekside home, particularly the squirrels, as they chased each other and played in the trees. She loved animals, and they loved her back. Jenny and Janeen were her two little dogs who Kathy loved to spoil, and they went everywhere with her. She truly loved all of God's creatures great and small.
Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Bill Selph, sister, Diane Fowler, mother, Bernice Selph, and her beloved Aunt Ruth.
She is survived by her two sons, Nathan Fowler, and Keith Fowler, daughter in law Heather Fowler, seven grandchildren who she adored, Silas, Hazel, Rowen, Daisy, Ruby, Weezie, and Rickey Fowler, numerous nephews and nieces, and longtime friend and companion, Jerry Fields.
Visitation for Kathy will be Friday, March 29 from 10am to 11am at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover on Hwy 150, with service to follow from 11am to noon.
