Kate Massey Noury

Mary Katherine (“Kate”) Massey Noury, age 82, passed away on December 19, 2025, in Birmingham, AL. She was the daughter of James Willard Massey and Doris Wood Massey Daniel and the sister of Julia Massey Culpepper (Ronald) of Columbus, GA and Moiya Massey McClellan of Thomasville, GA.

Kate was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dr. J. Philip Noury.

She is survived by her two sons, Ross Alan Young (Samantha) of Hoover, AL and Matthew Wood Young of Alabaster, AL. She is also survived by the following stepchildren: Virginia Noury Bradshaw (Charlie) of Pawley’s Island, SC, Mary Noury Sanchez of Beaufort, SC, Steve Noury (Donna) of Alpharetta, GA, Chris Noury of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Anthony Noury (Amy) of Mount Pleasant, SC; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Kate graduated from Georgia Southwestern College, Americus, GA in May, 1962 and from LaGrange College, LaGrange, GA in December of 1963. She retired from Spencer & Spencer, P.A. in 2017.

A beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, Kate will be remembered for her devotion to her family and the legacy of love she leaves with those who knew her. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts.

Services will be held on January 10, 2026, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Serenity Garden at 10:00 AM graveside.
