Karl Heckman, 64, of Birmingham, Alabama, unexpectedly gained his angel wings on April 17, 2026. He was born on May 9, 1961, in Nashville, Tennessee. Karl was preceded in death by his parents, Dot Reynolds, Don Heckman Sr., and Mozelle Heckman; and his siblings, Sandy Lassiter and Becky Dean. His loving wife of 30 years, Christie Heckman; daughters, Karlie (Blair) Heckman and Kirsten (Jake) Carver; granddaughter, Isla; father, Bobby Reynolds; siblings, Lee (Crickett) Heckman and Brett (Lauran) Heckman, and Paige Vick; along with nieces and nephews, are left to extend his impact. He was a successful businessman, which carried him into successfully owning and operating multiple businesses. His personality was contagiously electric. He loved to be on the go, always connecting to people and leaving an impression wherever he went. His family was everything, as he made sure to put them above all else. He leaves behind a legacy of love, leadership, compassion, loyalty, and humor. Karl had an unwavering love of all things Tennessee Volunteers and dachshunds, so in lieu of flowers, we encourage you to honor him by donating to the Tennessee Dachshund Rescue on his behalf. A celebration of his wonderful life will be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on April 21, 2026 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM.
