Jeanette Purvis Hughes

Jeanette Purvis Hughes of Maylene, went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at the age of 85. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alabaster. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Henry Grady Hughes. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Bond (Kevin) and Brenda McKay (Paul); a son, Donald Hughes (Cinderella); six grandchildren, Sarina Bonn, Amber Bond, Brandi Bond, Matthew McKay, Caitlin Whitworth (Danny), and Lara Hughes; 6 great grandchildren, Olivia, Emme, Grayson, Charlotte, Lucy, and Caroline. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 11, 2023, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Alabaster. Service will follow at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Dwight Wymer and Rev. Mike Byars officiating. The burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Geneva, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family requests offerings to be made to the First Baptist Church of Alabaster or donations to the Albert L. Scott Library, Alabaster, Alabama.
