James Dailey

Retired Lieutenant Colonel James E. Dailey, 86, passed Monday in his home surrounded by family.

James is survived by his wife, Sylvia Dailey, and three children: Deborah (Russell) Stone, Jed (Denise) Dailey, Darryl (Dawn) Dailey, he is preceded in death by his son Joey (Kelly) Dailey. He also has nine grandchildren: Fallon (Chris) Barnett, Alexandra (Christian) Flowers, Patrick (Lauren) Dailey, Jordan (Joe) Spiccia, Jonathan (Michelle) Dailey, Anna Lynn Dailey, Lauren Dailey, Corey Dailey, and Andria Trimmer, as well as ten great grandchildren: Dailey Mansfield, Sydney Barnett, Isaiah Barnett, Charlie Barnett, Cooper Dailey, Massey Dailey, Elisabeth Dailey, Mabel Dailey, Minnie Dailey, and Ezra James Dailey.

James achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Air National Guard and served his nation with distinction in the Berlin Crisis and Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Award and the Airforce Commendation Medal.

His life was marked by his exemplary military service and his love of the Lord and his family. His selfless and unconditional love reflected that of the Father’s which continually pointed all those who encountered him towards Heaven. James did everything with a spirit of excellence and a healthy helping of humor and light-heartedness.

He will be missed but his family knows that they will see him again soon. His was a life well lived, full of love and kindness. It was a life to be proud of; a life to be celebrated.
