Jack Edward Veazey

Born on November 4, 1932 in Jefferson County, Alabama; passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 in Pelham, Alabama. He was a native of Birmingham. Jack attended Ensley High School and was a proud graduate of The University of Alabama, class of 1959. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War. He retired from Alabama Power Company where he worked as an internal auditor. Known affectionately as "PawPaw" to his family and loved ones, Jack was an avid golfer and life-long fan of the Crimson Tide.

He is preceded in death by his father Lloyd Edward Veazey, his mother Tommie Lee Veazey. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Martha Ann "Sally" Veazey; children, Dinah Veazey, David Veazey, Denise McDonald (David), Mike Price; grandsons, Jonathan Veazey (Kristie), Brooks Veazey (Mary Ann), Garrison Veazey (Mary Katherine) Andrew McDonald (Hali); granddaughters, Ashton Spann (Jonathan), Erin McDonald, Anna Shamblin (Connor), Stacey Pickle (Brandon). Great granddaughters; Sadie, Adalyn, Hallie, Stella May, Millie, Scarlet, Ira Lynn, Lucy June, great grandsons; Theodore Otto, Jude, Franklin Howard, Graham, Gaines, and Grayson.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 2:00 PM at North Shelby Baptist Church. Family will receive friends at the church from 1:00PM -2:00PM. A private military inurnment will be held at the Alabama National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
