Jabe Currie Jr

of Weaver, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2005, at the age of 82. He is a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and was retired from Anniston Army Depot after 30 years service. Mr. Currie was a founding member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Jacksonville, now Grace-Fellowship Church, where he served as a Deacon for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Nellie Jo Currie, and a daughter, Martha Jean Currie. He is survived by a son, Phillip D. Currie and wife Julie of Hoover; three grandchildren, Zach Currie of Anniston, Liana and Lauren Currie, both of Hoover; a great granddaughter, Lela; a brother, Joe L. Currie and wife Joyce of Hixson, TN; a special niece, Linda Hill of Jacksonville; and several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October, 2, 2005, from 4 to 6 p.m. at K.L. Brown Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Funeral service will be on Monday, Ocbober 3, 2005, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Carlton Weathers officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville.
