Irene Lowther

of Vestavia Hills, died Saturday, October 29, 2005. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Tuesday, November 1st, at St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church in Hoover, with burial at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., prior to the service. Mrs. Lowther is survived by her husband of over 60 years, John A. "Jack" Lowther; daughter, Patti Peters (Nick); son, Jack Lowther (Lee); grandchildren, Nicholas Peters (Amanda); Christian Peters (Ashley); Shannon Peters; Blake Lowther; Todd Lowther (Rachel); and Patrick Lowther; great-grandson, Grayson Peters; and sisters, Vera Bush; Marion Staley, Margie Kappel, and Alice Kappel (Edward). Mrs. Lowther was a charter member of St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church, where she served as a member of St. Elizabeth's Guild. She was a longtime member of the Panorama Pines Garden Club, and a member of Vestavia Country Club, where she regularly enjoyed golf and bridge with her friends.
