Howard Walter Cooper, 94, passed away on November 12, 2023, in Cape Coral, FL.
Howard Cooper was born on October 8, 1929, in Addison, AL, to Melvin Cooper and Ethel Kent Cooper.
Howard graduated from Cullman High School, then enlisted in the Army in 1950.
He served honorably from 1950 to 1952, including 10 months in Korea facing intense combat in battles such as Bloody Ridge and Heartbreak Ridge.
After being discharged in 1952, he started his career in warehouse receiving at Moore Handley where he worked until age 85.
Howard married Marilyn Cooper on June 29, 1974, in Birmingham, Alabama. The couple had no children but had many adoring nieces and nephews.
Howard was best known for his fanatical love for Alabama Football, surpassed only by his love for his wife Marilyn.
Howard is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Howard is preceded in death by Marilyn Cooper - spouse, Melvin Cooper - father, Ethel Cooper - mother and Verrell Cooper Lee - sister.
The service for Howard Cooper will be held on Tuesday, at 11:00 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home.
Visitation: Tuesday, at 10:00 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home.
Burial: Jefferson Memorial Gardens South, Hoover, Alabama.
