Howard Allen

of Pelham, passed away Friday, March 4, 2005, at the age of 84. Mr. Allen was born on September 11, 1920, in Jacksonville, Tennessee. He was a faithful minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ for 57 years, and also served as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the State of Georgia for 11 years. Mr. Allen was a Charter member of the CrossBridge Church of Christ in Birmingham. He is survived by his wife, Rose A. Allen; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Garry Brantley; 2 granddaughters, Amber and Miranda Brantley; and 2 grandsons, Howard Allen and Zachary Brantley. Funeral services will be Monday, March 7, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at CrossBridge Church of Christ, 3039 Brook Highland Parkway, Birmingham, AL 35242 with Dr. Garry Brantley and John Abbott officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, in Hoover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the CrossBridge Church of Christ building fund to honor Mr. Allen's many years of ministry.
