H. Wingo

H. Elwyn Wingo, of Hoover, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at the age of 89. He was a member of many social and religious organizations. He served as a Deacon, Elder, Youth Leader, Bible Teacher and Choir Member. He grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a Nuclear Engineer at the Savannah River Plant from 1955-1995. He resided in North Augusta for 60 years and spent the last 5 years in Hoover, Alabama.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara Wingo; daughters, Emily Craig of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Laura Ann Walley of Hoover, Alabama, and Gayle Tripathi of Columbia, South Carolina; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Wingo will be announced at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Camp Victory at CampVictoryal.org in his memory.
