Brian Pitts

November 4, 1964 — March 30, 2026

Gregory Brian Pitts, a lifelong resident of Bessemer, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2026, at the age of 61. Known affectionately by those who loved him as "Pops" or "Pawpaw," Brian was a man whose life was defined by steady faith, hard work, and an unwavering devotion to his family.

Born and raised in Bessemer, Brian remained a pillar of his community throughout his life. He was a man of few words, but those words always carried weight; you never had to guess where you stood with him or what he was thinking. Beneath his quiet exterior was a generous heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to a neighbor or friend in need.

An avid outdoorsman, Brian found his peace while hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy was found in the time he spent with his family. As "Pawpaw," he was at his happiest when surrounded by his grandchildren, passing on the simple joys of life.

Brian is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Edward and Martha Sue Pitts, and his brother, Edward Pitts.

His legacy lives on through his son, Dustin Pitts and wife Alyssa; his beloved grandchildren, Lynlee and Wyatt Pitts; and his dear cousin, LaVonda Fowler. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
