Gladys Louise Dement Eubanks, 92, of Hoover, AL was called home in the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 8, 2023 with her family in her beloved home. Born April 2, 1930 in Tiger Creek, MS, Gladys worked for the Mississippi Cooperative Extension Service and retired with 35 years of service working for the State of Mississippi. She was a long-time resident of Lucedale, MS until moving to Mobile, AL in 1988.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Eubanks Crawford (Richard Crawford) of Hoover, AL; two grandchildren, Benjamin Perry Kelly (Fernanda Kugeratski) of Houston, Texas; Elissa Kelly Smith (Taylor Smith) of Hoover, AL; and granddaughter by marriage, Heather Crawford Peyronel (Clint Peyronel) of Jacksonville, FL; two great granddaughters, Sofia Louise Smith of Hoover, AL and Bailey Elizabeth Peyronel of Jacksonville, FL.

She is proceeded in death by her husband of 33 years, Perry Leon Eubanks of Lucedale, MS; parents Dewey William "D.W." Dement and Berta Jane West Dement, both of Lucedale, MS; her sister Pearl Holifield Cameron of Cleveland, TX; her brothers Bennie William Dement, Jessie Dement, Earl West and Harlen West, all of Lucedale, MS.

A strong and loving Christian, Gladys will be remembered by her family as an excellent cook, master gardener, accomplished seamstress, gifted decorator, and avid animal lover. She will be dearly missed by all of her family including her Shar Pei Lab and best friend, Atticus.

Graveside services will be held by Fails Funeral Home at Holmes Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery near Lucedale, MS at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, send donations to Foundation For Women's Cancer. Website address: foundationforwomenscancer.org/support-us/donate/.
