Geneva Louise Cleveland Johnson, age 76, of Hueytown, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026.

Born on December 31,1949 to Roy and Wilma Dean Cleveland, Geneva lived a life defined by kindness, grace, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

Geneva retired from BellSouth in November 2002, where she enjoyed a successful 35-year career. She had a passion for Alabama Football, listening to Lynard Skynyrd and frequent trips to Gulf Shores. She was an active member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Everyone that knows Geneva knows her greatest and most proud achievement was being a wife and mother.

She leaves behind her beloved only son, Travis. From the moment he was born, Geneva dedicated her life to raising him with unconditional love, strength, and wisdom. The unbreakable bond they shared was what she cherished most, and her spirit will live on through him.

In addition to her son, Travis Johnson (Reba), she is survived by her only grandchild, Gregory Wade Goolsby (Hannah), and one great grandson, Wyatt William Goolsby. She was preceded in death and her husband, James E. Johnson, by her parents, Roy and Wilma Dean Cleveland, husband's parents, James and Rebecca Johnson, brothers, Glenn Cleveland, Eddie Cleveland.

A memorial service celebrating Geneva's life will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m., with burial immediately following. All services will be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens located at 2701 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover Alabama, 35244.
