Florence Patterson

February 27, 1930 — December 1, 2017

Florence Regena Patterson, of Vestavia, formerly of Muskogee, OK, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017, at the age of 87. She was a faithful member of Valleydale Church. Regena served her country in the U.S. Air Force. She retired after more than 40 years as a registered nurse, and was known for her volunteer work at Sav-a-Life Shelby.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Clyde Franklin Patterson; her brother, Leon Baker; and her sister-in-law, Mildred Andrews. She is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Lou Patterson and Cindy Combs (Randy); 2 grandchildren, Jenny Combs and Julie Combs; 3 brothers, Levi Baker, Amon Baker, and Bill Baker (Sue); and her brother-in-law, Charles Patterson (Diane).

The family will receive friends from 12:30-2, Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. Funeral will follow in the chapel at 2 PM, Rev. Ross Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sav-a-Life Shelby.
