Emily "Jean" Mcalister

Emily "Jean" McAlister, of Fairfield, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019,  at the age of 87.  She was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband, William H. McAlister; son, William Wade McAlister; parents, Ervin and Vada Byram; brother, Maury Byram; and sister, Helen Frost.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Karen Pratt; daughter-in-law, Susan McAlister; her beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Kristin, and Katelyn Pratt and Christopher, Daniel, Nathan, and Keri McAlister; 4 great-grandchildren, Harper, Kaden, Gavin, and Aubree, all of which loved their wonderful Maw Maw; sister, Betty Sue Prosch; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 1, 2019, from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, 2701 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, AL 35244.  The service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 PM.  Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
