Edward Atkisson

of Pelham, passed away on Sept. 24, 2010 at the age of 79. He is a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He worked for many years at Hackney Corp. and then with Wal-Mart. He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth. He is survived by a son, Mike Beeson; 2 daughters, Brenda and Linda Atkisson; and 3 sisters, Betty (Amos) Mitchell, Agnes Kendrick and Nettie Bell Humprey. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
