Edna King

Mrs. Edna S. King, age 85 of Vestavia Hills, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2014. She was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church. She graduated from Huntington College in Montgomery. She worked for the WMU of the Southern Baptist Convention. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John King; her daughter, Nancy Coker (Carmon); two grandchildren, Jake and Julie Smith; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 1 until 2 pm with a graveside service to begin at 2 pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Alabama Baptist Childrens Home or your favorite church or charity.
