“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness!” II Timothy 4:7-8
Eden Jeanette Calhoun went to be with Jesus on October 3, 2022, while tenderly and lovingly being held by her parents, Dylan and Lexie Calhoun.
Though Eden had just been with us since September 6, 2022, her short life made a profound impact on many. She entered this world with a spunky spirit immediately recognizing her momma and daddy. She also let the nurses and doctors know, as she cut her eyes at them, that she intended to fight. And fight she did! She was brave, she was resilient, she showed immense courage, and she fought faithfully until her last day.
Friends, family, and strangers all over the world prayed for Eden and were drawn closer to the Lord by a little baby that never said a word. But what a testimony of the Lord working through the prayers of His people as we saw miracle after miracle in her tiny body. Many prayed for Eden to be healed, and while we all longed for and pleaded with the Lord for healing on this earth, He has now healed Eden completely in heaven.
Dylan and Lexie and all of Eden’s family are heartbroken, and they will miss her terribly. But they are also filled with hope knowing that this is not the end, but just a temporary goodbye. They will be with Eden again because of the hope that they have in eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.
Eden is survived by her parents, Dylan and Lexie Calhoun, and grandparents, Anthony and Sandy Bradley and Randy and Sonya Calhoun.
A service celebrating the life of Eden will be held on Saturday, October 8th, at 2:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 2701 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, AL 35244 with the graveside to immediately follow. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.
