Dorothy Carter

Dorothy Belk Carter, of Alabaster, Alabama age 88 passed away Friday, June 11, 2021.

Dorothy (Dot) Carter was born in Vina, AL on July 5th, 1932. She was the daughter of James and Mae Bell Belk. She was married to Otis Carter for 53 years. She was a loving wife and mother.  She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Alabaster.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her Parents; James and Mae Bell Belk her Husband, Otis Carter; and Son-in-law Tony Townsend.

Dorothy is survived by one Brother; Bobby Belk (Mary Lynn) and her eight children. Sons Jerry Carter; Larry Carter (Diane); James Carter (Linda) Daughters: Patricia Carter, Martha Jo Johnson (Stewart), Vicky Johnson (Jimmy), Julie Hadaway (Jeff), Robin Bolton (Kevin). 15 grandchildren, 21 Great-grandchildren and two Great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 14, 2021, at Currie- Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover from 12:00PM to 1:00PM. Followed by a Funeral Service, Monday June 14, 2021, at 1:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Elvis Carter Officiating.
