Delaphine “Dale” Rawls Stinson

Delaphine Rawls Stinson, 91, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 27, 2026 with her family by her side.

Dale was born March 27, 1935, in Brillant, AL to Zack and Clersey Rawls.

Dale married Lester “Les” Elijah Stinson on April 20, 1960. The two were each other’s lifelong companions.

Dale worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Research and Development at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

She had an eye for fashion and always carried herself with elegance, grace, and class. She was an avid reader and a member of Canaan Baptist Church in Bessemer, AL.

Dale is survived by her sister, Carolyn Sue Norris and her brother, Cecil Rawls. She is also survived by many Nieces and Nephews and a host of Great Nieces and Great Nephews; and many other family members and friends who will miss her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lester Stinson, by her parents, Zack and Clersey Rawls, her sister Hettie McDonald, her brothers Willis A. Rawls, Cantrell Rawls, Harold Rawls and Bobby Ray Rawls.

The family would like to thank Cullman Regional Hospice and Cornerstone Caregiving for their amazing care. We could not have done this without them.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 1, at 12:00pm followed by Graveside Service at 1:00pm at the Curre-Jefferson Funeral Home Memorial Gardens located at 2701 John Hawkins Pkwy Hoover, AL.
