Visitation will be held from 11 am to 12 pm in the chapel of Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, immediately followed by funeral and graveside service at 12. Rev. Jim Gothard, retired, will officiate.

Cora Marie Abbott Gothard passed away peacefully at home on Friday July 24, 2026.

Cora was preceded in death by her husband John B. Gothard, Sr., and her sons John B. Gothard, Jr.(Linda), and Brian Gothard (Christy), and 2 great- great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Todhunter (Conway), her son Geoffry Gothard, grandchildren, Sherry Sports, Tammy Dodd, Samantha Wilson, Sarah Williamson, Nicole Lionberger (Randy), Adam Todhunter (Lindsay), Amy Todhunter, Blake Gothard, Bailey Gothard, Alan Gothard, Nickolas Gothard, Ava Gothard, James Gothard, JJ Todhunter (Bailee), and Faith Gothard. 11 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.
