Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Clyde passed away on Monday, April 13th, 2026 surrounded by his family. Services will be held on April 20, 2026 at 11AM (visitation 10 AM) at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, Alabama.
Clyde proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a young man. He later owned and operated several restaurants and spent more than 45 years in the trucking industry. After selling his business, he and Donna purchased Old Springhill Plantation in Comer, Alabama, where they restored the antebellum home and grounds. He developed a commercial hunting lodge and fishing lakes, hosting experts and amateurs from across the country. As a Director of the Alabama Wildlife Federation, he especially enjoyed hosting the Alabama Wildlife Game Cookoff and was proud of its mission to foster appreciation for the outdoors.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna and two children, Elaine Vanderver and David Vanderver (Dicla).
Nephew, Allen Wyatt (Tracy ) his Niece, Becky Wyatt Buckner (Charlie). Great-nephews Forrest Buckner (Mindy) and Walker Wyatt. Great-nieces Leah Wyatt and Ashley Buckner Farmer (Justin). Clyde is also survived by his 5 grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy.
Clyde will be remembered for his love for family, the outdoors, hunting, fishing and Alabama football.
