Obituary

Celeste Marie Leon, 89, Panama City, Florida (formerly Evergreen Park, Illinois) passed into eternal peace, Monday, September 7, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years (Crispin) and her parents, Jerome and Irene Farsky.

Celeste was a loving wife, mother and friend of many. She was a prolific consumer of books, a talented cook with signature "Celeste" dishes, and a knack for making gourmet meals out of leftovers. She loved to travel, instilling that love in her children, with road trips that covered the four corners of the nation in her early days. She had a knack for finding "the road less traveled", full of adventure and history. She was a talented artist who produced oil and watercolors paintings, greatly underestimating her talent inherited by her forefather who was a Czech artist from Prague. Although retirement took Celeste and Cris to Florida, her love for Chicago never left and she recently got to visit her favorite city and museums. One of the many things that made Celeste special was the gentleness of her soul, her kindness, a beautiful smile and generosity of spirit. Celeste is survived by her son Robert (Becki), daughter Marie (Mike), five grandchildren she was extremely proud of, Sarah (Colin), Eric, Zach, Alexander and Henry, along with two great grandchildren, Leighton and Brooks, her beloved brother, Robert, sister-in-law Miki, niece Joy (Ray) and great nephew Justin (Megan). She was a beloved neighbor to Theresa, Nick, Eric, Annette, Gary and Louise, and a beloved "Tia" to the Arciga Family. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Service will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society in Celeste's memory.
