Carolyn M. Wood

Carolyn McLaughlin Wood, age 93, passed away on March 22, 2026 in Hoover, Alabama. She was born March 16, 1933 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. 

She was preceded in death by her “sweet one” husband Clyde Harry Wood; wonderful parents Raymond Elgin McLaughlin and Lizzie Brackner McLaughlin; sister Sophie McLaughlin Pate (Tom); an infant brother; and special aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 Carolyn is survived by her loving family; sons Larry Clyde Wood and Mark Joseph Wood (Judy); granddaughters Emily Wood Traylor (Tommy) and Elizabeth Wood Covington (Michael); great-grandchildren Sadie Grace Covington and Noah James Covington; special family, neighbors, friends, and caregivers. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, followed by a family graveside service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens South. Donations in her memory may be made at stjude.org.
