On March 2, 2026, Callie Freeman Hines, age 81, passed away peacefully at home, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and friendship. She was born on December 26, 1944, in Panama City, Florida. Callie was one of three children of Cook and Virginia Freeman.
A woman of strong faith and vibrant community spirit, Callie was a devoted member of Hunter Street Baptist Church. She was also an active member of the Republican Women's Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Red Hat Society. Through these organizations, she formed lasting friendships and brought joy and enthusiasm to every gathering.
For 20 years, Callie worked as a real estate agent, building not only a successful career but also meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued.
Callie truly loved life's special moments. She delighted in socializing with her friends and family, decorating her home beautifully for every holiday, and participating in tablescape events with her friends, where her creativity and eye for detail always shone. She also enjoyed treating herself to getting her hair and nails done, embracing both elegance and fun in her daily life.
She is survived by her loving husband, Hugh Hines; her son, James Dudley Hines (Leah); her sister, Lynda Kessler (Dave); her brother, Richard Freeman; and her cherished grandchildren, Lawson Hines and Bree Hines. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other beloved family members and friends.
Callie was preceded in death by her son, Jeremy Hines, and her parents, Cook and Virginia Freeman.
Callie will be remembered for her warm heart, her gracious hospitality, her steadfast faith, and the joy she brought into every room she entered. Her family and friends will forever treasure the beautiful memories she created and the love she so freely shared. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 11am from Hunter Street Baptist Church. Family will receive friends at the church from 10am until service time.
