Billie Nell Mullis

The family of Billie Nell Mullis is saddened to announce her passing on June 26 at the age of 88 years. A memorial service will be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, AL on Sunday, July 12, from 2:00-3:00 (visitation from 1:30-2:00). 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Daniel H. Mullis; her parents Willie and Nellie Stokes; step-mother Eloise Stokes; Uncle Roscoe and Aunt Era Stokes; sisters Helen Yarbrough and Charlotte Massengale; "sister cousins" Martha Holt and Margie Branch; and brothers-in-law Leonard Yarbrough, Ancil Holt, and Julian Branch. She is survived by her children, Daniel H. Mullis, Jr. and Jeffery S. Mullis; her sister Donna Dyal; her brothers-in-law Mike Dyal and Lee Massengale; and a host of nieces and nephews, including Lori Yarbrough, Wayne and Cindy Yarbrough, and Dan and Carrie Mullis. Billie had many cherished friends throughout her life, including Shirley Prince, Paula Wall, Toodie Gray, Sharon Strongman, Brenda Bracey, Maria Brandt, Raven Dennis, Vicki Haddock, Charlotte Thornton, and Renee and Heatherly Grace Shepherd. Heartfelt thanks go to Billie's beloved friend and neighbor, John Olive, who has been very supportive over the years.
