Betty Bomar Tucker, age 87, of Homewood died February 3, 2022.
Mrs. Tucker served as a music teacher, Youth Choir director, Soloist, Cub Scout Leader, PTA President, and was a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church since 1956. She was from Meridian, Mississippi where she was an undergraduate of Mississippi State College for Women. She obtained a Masters degree in Music Education at the University of Alabama. She was a member of Friends of Hoover Library, Fairfield Library Board, and was a long time resident of Fairfield and Hoover.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton R. Tucker, Jr; a son, Clifton Tucker, III; her parents, James Clyde Bomar and Mildred Bomar; two brothers, Julian Bomar and Roy Bomar.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by two sons, Clark Tucker (Wife Elizabeth Tucker) and Clyde Tucker, (Wife Marie Tucker); Grandchildren; Taylor Tucker, Victoria Tucker, Blaine Tucker, Savannah Tucker, and Abbey Tucker.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. with Brian Hinton officiating and Barry Daniel as musician at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel in Hoover. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1 P.M. at Currie Jefferson. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial South in Hoover.
