Barbara Ann Brewster Broadway, 85, of Hoover, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026.

Barbara was born on June 29, 1941, in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Lawrence James Brewster (Larry) and Eloise (Baugh) Brewster. Barbara grew up in Birmingham where she graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1958. Barbara attended the University of Alabama where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority.

Barbara was known for her sense of humor and her love for animals, especially her fur grandbabies. Barbara was a passionate Alabama football fan and never missed an opportunity to talk about her Crimson Tide, especially with her beauty shop friends on Thursdays. She took great pride in her granddaughters and enjoyed a fun rivalry with her granddaughter, Callie, who is a University of Georgia graduate.

She is survived by her daughter, Dana Usher Driver (Kristian) of Lookout Mountain, Georgia; her granddaughters, Caroline (Callie) Driver Dehnavi (Iraj), of Atlanta, Georgia, Emma Driver Hayes (Dustin) of St. Louis, Missouri and great grandchildren, Theo and Peter Hayes. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, John O. Broadway, Jr. and her loving parents, Lawrence James Brewster (Larry) and Eloise (Baugh) Brewster.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Brookwood Hospital, her friends, her nurse, Kayla at Enhabit Home Health, and her friends for their loving and attentive care and support.

A celebration of life will be held later in October to reminisce and tell stories about Barbara, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend!
