Arthur Terrell Burdette

Terry Burdette was born in Clay County on July 17, 1937. He was happily married to Gail Camp Burdette for 65 years.

He was a proud veteran who served in the US Army as a Radar Specialist, and in the Alabama National Guard. Terry worked as a Field Engineering Specialist at IBM for 30 years. He was a gifted fixer of all things.

Terry was a faithful member of Lakeside Baptist Church, enjoyed Jim Thacker’s Sunday school class, and served faithfully for many years.

Favorite activities included quail hunting, fishing with his brother Ronnie and family, traveling and camping, and Alabama football.

Terry was predeceased by his parents, Doc and Mary Burdette, and sisters, Janice Harth and Shirley McCray. He is survived by his wife, Gail Camp Burdette, son Bill Burdette, daughter Lynn Champion (Buddy,) granddaughters Macie (Matthew,) Dailey, Grace and Sierra, brother Ronnie Burdette (Nikki,) and many cousins, in-laws, nephews, nieces and friends.

Terry passed away December 23, 2025 surrounded by family. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
