Anne Schilleci

Anne Marie passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her husband and children on August 12, 2022.  Born in Birmingham, AL she was the eldest daughter of ten children.  She married John Schilleci in 1964 and raised her four children in Hoover, AL.  She enjoyed cooking, music, dancing, travel, learning new technology, taking pictures, and especially planning and hosting family gatherings. Her top priority was always her family, to be the best mother, and make sure everyone was happy.  Her family meant everything to her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson Foster Turner, father John L. Sims III, sister Martha S. King, brother James Solley Jr., and mother Annie Laurie Sims.

She is survived by her husband John Schilleci, children Leigh Anne Tucker, Susan Turner, Amy Schilleci(Steven), David Schilleci (Jody), grandchildren Zachary Turner (Brittney), Grant Tucker (Kalee), Kelsey Cunningham, Danielle Vanzant, Kennedy Vanzant, Christian Vanzant, Michael Kesinger, Hannah Anderson (Aaron), Dean Schilleci, Stella Schilleci, great grandchildren Landyn Cunningham, Cora Anderson, Arlo Anderson, and Rowan Kesinger, siblings John "Jack" Sims, Kenneth Sims, Jane Massengale, Alice Deason, Nancy Donahoo, Dan Sims, and Robert Sims.

The family would like to express their gratitude to her caregivers at Aveanna/Comfort Care hospice and Visiting Angels. Special thanks to Jonny Ramos.

The family will receive guests at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on Monday, August 15, 2022, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and funeral service at 2:00 p.m
