Andrew Deason

He loosed the bonds of earth and went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, Andrew Deason, of Montevallo, was 86. He was a member of Montevallo First Baptist Church. He enlisted in the US Navy at age 17 and retired after 23 years of serving his country. He had a love of nature and enjoyed gardening. He loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Andrew is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth Marilyn Deason; 2 daughters, Catherine Cook and Crystaline Deason; grandchildren, Crystal Basham (John Paul), Amber Benson (Bo) and Patrick Smith (Kim); great-grandchildren, Elise and Kendra Smith, Levi and Titus Basham; his brother, Dewey Deason; sisters, Virginia Bailey and Dolores Goin; and nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

The family wishes to send a sincere thank you to the caring people at Southern Care Hospice.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 8, 2017, from 2-3 PM at Montevallo First Baptist Church. The service will follow at 3 PM with Dr. Terry Sutton officiating. The interment will be on Monday, April 10, 2017, at 11:45 AM at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Montevallo First Baptist Church - Sanctuary Remodeling Fund.
