Alice Faye Hollis Voce, 84, a woman of deep devotion and endless warmth, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, surrounded by the family who was the center of her world.
Faye's journey began on March 12, 1942, in Sylacauga, Alabama, born to Tol H. and Fannie Louise Parrish Hollis. Though her family moved to Guin when she was a small child, she later graduated from West End High School in Birmingham. It was in these early years that she built the foundation of character and hard work that would define her life, including a dedicated 40-year career with Southern Company, which she began at the young age of 19.
On September 1, 1961, Faye married the love of her life, William Joseph Voce. Together, they built a life in Birmingham rooted in faith and family. Faye's greatest legacy is found in the people she loved. She was the quintessential "baby person"-never able to pass a stroller in public without stopping to dote on a little one. To her own grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was a constant source of song and sunshine, often serenading them with "You Are My Sunshine" and the gentle lyrics of Barney's "I Love You."
She is survived by her devoted husband, William Joseph Voce; her daughters, Kelli Voce Barnes (Michael) and Angela Voce Garner (Lee); and her brother, Gary P. Hollis (Jo Ann). Her spirit lives on in her six grandchildren, Trevor Tuck (Annie), Brenna Garner Colvin (Cody), Colton Tuck, Kaylee Garner Fox (Keaton), Brodie Garner, and Ava Grace Barnes; and her two precious great-grandchildren, Ellie Mae and Kennedy Colvin. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Ronald Hollis and Tol Hollis, Jr.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 7th, 2026, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, 2701 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, AL 35244. The family will receive friends for visitation at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Service will be officiated by Pastor Jared Cornutt of North Shelby Baptist Church.
